The introduction of e-commerce has totally changed the way people shop for luxury items and products of daily need. While earlier, shopping meant going to a physical store and buying the product after checking out its every aspect, nowadays shopping primarily means shopping online. The C2C marketplace is slowly evolving and gaining momentum after B2C companies made a huge impact in this domain.

The C2C Marketplace

In simple terms, it is the process of buying and selling between people or customers and not business entities. Just like in the olden days, people used to buy grains from farmers directly and clothes from weavers. So, in the C2C marketplace, a platform is created in such a way that customers can sell goods or services to each other. The only difference here is that the marketplace is a virtual platform where the sellers (who work from home) enlist their products and buyers place direct orders.

Although the C2C marketplace is thriving and people are benefitting from it in a big way, until about a year ago, there was no robust system of delivering the products to the end customers after the orders were placed. However, reputed shipping and logistics companies are now offering dedicated services in this domain too. They have made the whole process much smoother.

The Role of Modern Courier Companies in Facilitating Growth of the C2C Business

Modern courier companies offer personalized services which have in a big way contributed to the growth of the C2C business model in the country. Along with the courier collection from the seller’s home, these companies ensure safe and timely delivery of the goods to the end consumer.

In the C2C marketplace, a lot depends on the services offered by the courier company. The sellers are largely dependent on them to ensure the safe and timely delivery of their goods to the customer, which eventually helps create that lasting impression in the customer’s mind.

Given the vast potential that the C2C marketplace has, several reputed courier companies are now offering these services. They have launched a special C2C delivery service wherein they provide services like courier collection from home, express delivery, slot-based delivery, cash on delivery, and all other services that the B2C companies could only avail of till now. Services offered by these big players have made the whole C2C marketplace much stronger, eliminating instances of product theft, piracy, and issues with payments. Along with all these facilities, these courier companies also offer return management services which further helps in increasing the end consumer’s trust and profitability of the whole system.
